Origins
of the CBA Robot
The CBA (ChiBot Alpha)
robot kit arose from the desire to have a common club robot
for The Chicago Area Robotics Group (ChiBots).
With an increasing number of new robot builders joining the
group, the subject of where to start in robotics was always
a question. The CBA robot kit was designed to answer this question.
The kit was designed
with a number of criteria in mind:
- Low cost
- Suitable for the
beginner
- Easy to program
microcontroller
based
- Flexible and easy
to expand
- Great line following
ability (many of the ChiBot contests involve following lines)
With these concepts
in mind, the CBA kit was born and will soon be available to
other robotic clubs and interested individuals.
Who
is BudgetBot.com?
BudgetBot.com was
founded to spread the hobby of robotics as widely as possible.
The goal is to provide basic robot kits to the average robot
beginner, at reasonable cost. With the assistance and support
of members of ChiBots I have set about to see that this happens.
Think of BudgetBot.com
as a guy in his garage, with lots of help from others, and with
a mission.
